You all know I HATE chains. However, sometimes a mass message should get out. This is one of those moments.
Tomorrow (October 3, 2018) your cellular phone will do something very peculiar. DO NOT BE ALARMED.
It is a test of the new Federal WEA System. WEA means Wireless Emergency Alert.
At some point tomorrow your phone will emit some unusual, annoying, loud beep-like sounds (similar to those used for Amber alerts or Tornado Warnings in some states and Tornado Warnings states), followed by a brief message from President Trump informing you that this is a test and start of the new Wireless Emergency Alert system.
This system, if the test goes as planned, will never be heard by you again except in the case of a "dire national emergency". Only the President himself can activate it in such cases.
You cannot opt out of the system. God willing, you never will need to think about opting out, since dire national emergencies are extremely rare - our last one was 17 years ago, and then 60 years previous to that.
This system is created to make sure that as many people as possible are immediately informed if such a dire emergency effecting the entire nation DOES happen.
If you are American or have American friends, as much as I hate chains of any kind, I ask you to send this to them so they don't get a scare when the test interrupts their day tomorrow.
